For the neophyte

Troubadour - The name conjures up a plethora of ideas - mostly malformed and untrue.

The troubadours were composers and performers of both music and poetry of the medieval period in an area of western Europe once called Occitania now known as Southern France.

For those new to the Troubadours finding a point of entry is simply daunting and one feels lead into a scholarly labyrinth without sense or resolve. This article shall attempt to unfold the way for neophytes and scholars alike.
